Details
A solenoid valve is a basic automated component that uses electromagnetic force to control the opening and closing of fluid or the size of its flow. It is widely used in industry and daily life.
Working Principle
The solenoid valve works based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. It mainly consists of an electromagnetic coil, a valve core, and a valve body. When the electromagnetic coil is energized, it generates a magnetic field. Under the action of the magnetic field force, the valve core overcomes the spring force or other resistance and moves, thereby changing the opening and closing state of the fluid passage. For example, in a normally closed solenoid valve, when energized, the valve core is lifted, the valve opens, and the fluid can pass through; when de-energized, the valve core resets under the action of the spring force, closing the valve and preventing the fluid from passing through.
Structural Types
Direct-acting solenoid valve: Directly relies on electromagnetic force to drive the valve core to move. It has a simple structure and fast action, but the passage is generally smaller, suitable for small flow and low-pressure occasions.
Pilot-operated solenoid valve: Consists of a pilot valve and a main valve. The electromagnetic coil first controls the opening and closing of the pilot valve, and the pressure difference generated by the pilot valve drives the main valve core to move, thereby achieving control of large flow and high-pressure fluids. This type of solenoid valve has the advantages of large flow rate and small pressure loss.
