Function
The main function of pipe valves is to regulate, control, and shut off the flow of fluids in pipelines, including controlling parameters such as fluid flow rate, pressure, and flow direction. By opening, closing, or partially opening the valve, it is possible to control the on/off state of the fluid and precisely adjust the flow rate as needed to meet the requirements of different processes or system operations. It can also shut off the fluid in case of pipeline system failures or maintenance needs, ensuring the safety of maintenance work.
Common Types
Gate Valve: Controls the opening and closing of the fluid passage by raising and lowering the gate. It features low fluid resistance, large opening height, and can operate in fully open or fully closed states. Suitable for shut-off control of large-diameter pipelines.
Ball Valve: Uses a circular opening on the ball to achieve fluid on/off and flow regulation. It has advantages such as simple structure, good sealing performance, convenient operation, and rapid opening and closing. Often used in situations requiring quick opening and closing and precise flow control.
Globe Valve: Controls fluid flow by the vertical movement of the valve disc. It has good sealing performance but high fluid resistance. Generally used for shut-off and throttling control of small-diameter pipelines.
Material Selection
The materials of pipe valves vary depending on their operating environment and the medium. Common valve body materials include cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel, suitable for different pressure, temperature, and medium corrosion requirements. Valve seats and seals usually use materials such as rubber and PTFE to ensure good sealing performance.
