Details
The filter element in an air filter is the core component, mainly used to filter impurities, dust, pollen, smoke, and other pollutants from the air to provide clean air.
Working Principle
When air passes through the filter element, pollutants are intercepted on the surface or in the pores of the filter element, while clean air passes through the filter element into subsequent equipment or spaces. The filtration principle varies slightly depending on the material and structure of the filter element. For example, paper filter elements mainly use the pores of the filter paper for mechanical filtration; fiber filter elements, in addition to mechanical filtration, also use the electrostatic adsorption of the fibers to capture tiny particles; activated carbon filter elements mainly rely on the adsorption of activated carbon to remove harmful gases and odors.
Performance Indicators
Filtration efficiency: This indicates the filter element's ability to intercept pollutants of different particle sizes, usually expressed as a percentage. The higher the filtration efficiency, the better the filtering effect of the filter element.
Dust holding capacity: This refers to the amount of dust that the filter element can hold before reaching a specified resistance or a certain level of filtration efficiency decline. The larger the dust holding capacity, the longer the service life of the filter element.
Resistance: The pressure loss generated when air passes through the filter element. The lower the resistance, the lower the energy consumption of air passing through the filter element, and the less the impact on the operating cost of the entire air filtration system.
